ABOUT US
WHO WE ARE
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to help each person who comes to Faith Family Church not only believe in Jesus, but experience a sense of belonging, become a true disciple of Christ, and, ultimately, help build the Kingdom of God. Faith Family Church strives to encourage every Christian to tell their stories of how God rescued them, saved them, and is blessing and using them.
OUR VISION
God said, "Build not just a church, but build a supernatural church."
Faith Family Church was founded and is directed for the purposes of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry and evangelizing the world with the Gospel of our Lord, Jesus Christ, through every medium — helping believers reach their most effective potential in the Body of Christ. (Eph. 4:11-16)
OUR VALUES
The intent of every member should be to rally around the love of Christ for the souls of men and serve one another in a genuine spirit of
fellowship and concern for the cause of God's Great Commission to the church.
Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation." (Mark 16:15)
OUR STORY
SMALL BEGINNINGS
In 1981, under the Lord's direction, Pastors Michael & Vicki Bang came to Sioux Falls to begin Faith Family Church. He gave them a direction for what would become Faith Family Church. He spoke to their hearts:
Teach the people faith in My Word by demonstration. It will be your lifeline.
Teach the people to become the "family of God" – knitted together in love and unity, fellowshipping one with another, bearing each other's burdens, and living not for self. Minister it on an individual and family level, as well, because strong families will be the backbone.
Reach out to the lost and send those I send with prayers and financial support for it will be your heartbeat just as it is Mine.
As soon as Mike and Vicki arrived in Sioux Falls, they began Faith Family Church with just a handful of people in attendance. The beginnings were humble, but the church began to grow.
Today, FFC is leading the next generation of the body of Christ into a greater relationship with Christ. Over 40 years later, Pastors Mike and Vicki continue to preach the uncompromised Word of God, and Faith Family Church continues to change the lives of thousands of people each year as they teach the Good News of Jesus Christ.
OUR PASTORS
After 10 years of owning and operating a Mayflower moving company, Mike and Vicki stepped out in faith and moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma where they prepared for full-time ministry by attending Rhema Bible Training Center. They were ordained under Kenneth Hagin Ministries and are members of Rhema Ministerial Association International and in 1981 they moved their family to Sioux Falls and began Faith Family Church.
Pastors Mike and Vicki have been married since 1971 and have three children, all serving the Lord in their lives and in ministry. Aimee and son-in-law, Matt, have a son, Jacob, and pastor in Iowa City, Iowa.
Angie and her husband, Matt, have three children: Rylie, Conner, and Ella. Angie is on staff at FFC; she is our Music Pastor and manages our in-house accounting, as well as runs our church coffee shop and bookstore. Matt and Angie, along with their kids, serve in the coffee shop together as a family.
Andrew is the youngest. He faithfully serves on the music team and fills the pulpit upon occasion. His wife, Kalyn, serves in one of our children's classes. They have two daughters, Adalee and Indianna, and a son named Apollo.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Man is a created being, made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam’s transgression, sin came into the world. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to undo the work of the devil, and He gave His life to redeem and restore man back to God (Romans 5:14, 3:10, 3:23; 1 John 3:8). Salvation is the gift of God to man and is made possible by grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8).
Man’s first step toward salvation is godly sorrow that works in repentance. The New Birth is necessary to all men, and, when fulfilled, produces eternal life (2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5).
His coming is imminent. When He returns, “…the dead in Christ shall rise first; then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air…” This is also known as The Rapture (Acts 1:11; 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17).
The one who physically dies in his sins without Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost and, therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. Their eternal destiny is the Lake of Fire, or Hell, where there is weeping and gnashing of teeth (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 19:20, 20:12-15; Matthew 13:40-42; Luke 16:19-31).
To “sanctify” something is to set it apart for special use. Sanctification has a lot to do with the Christian life and lifestyle – the believer in Christ being “set apart” to be a reflection of Christ in the earth and in doing so fulfilling the Great Commission. God made us holy inwardly so that in time, as we grow and mature spiritually, we would also reflect His holiness in how we think, speak, and act (Hebrews 12:14; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Peter 3:18; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14; 1 Corinthians 1:30).
The Bible is the inspired Word of God the product of holy men of old who spoke and wrote as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. The New Covenant, as recorded in the New Testament, we accept as our infallible guide in matters pertaining to conduct and doctrine (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Peter 1:21).
Our God is One, but manifested in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, being co-equal (Philippians 2:6). God the Father is greater than all, the Source of the Word (John 14:28; John 16:28; John 1:14). The Son, Jesus, is the Word in the flesh, the only begotten one, and has existed with the Father from the beginning (John 1:1; John 1:18; John 1:14). The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead and is eternal (John 15:26).
Baptism in water is a direct commandment of our Lord, and is for believers. It is a symbol of the Christian’s identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12; Acts 8:36-39).
Baptism in the Holy Ghost is a gift from God as promised by the Lord, Jesus Christ, to all believers and is received following the new birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit Himself gives utterance (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16,17; Acts 1:8, 2:38-39, 19:1-7, 2:4).
Healing is manifested by the power of God and by the laying on of hands. It is provided for in the atonement of Christ and is available to anyone who believes they can be healed (Mark 16:18; James 5:14-20; 1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:17; Isaiah 53:4-5).
